The Blank Page: The Act & Art of Writing
“The page waits, pretending to be blank,” writes Margaret Atwood in The Page, and further, “Beneath the page is everything that has ever happened.” In a Saga Seminars Blank Page writing workshop, led by author Eunice Scarfe, you’re invited to approach the paper with both memory and imagination, in prose or in poetry, to take risks and to experiment. Come and write a first draft, and learn strategies for reading and revising the first and subsequent drafts. A Blank Page workshop does not focus on a particular genre or subject matter; it does focus on finding the words and getting them down in a draft which becomes both teacher and seed. These workshops are suitable for writers at all levels of experience.
