Eunice Scarfe
Eunice Scarfe has taught writing workshops for women since 1990. She is a published short story writer, a past winner of the Prism International and University of Alaska Short Fiction prizes, and has taught for the annual conference of the International Women's Writing Guild since 1995. Her graduate degrees (in English and Creative Writing) are from the University of Chicago and the University of Alberta.
Eunice is the owner of Saga Seminars, the company under which her seminars and workshops are offered. In recent years she has led workshops in New York City, Vermont, Washington D.C., Chicago, Vancouver and the Yukon, in addition to teaching the classes which she regularly offers in Edmonton.
She is particularly interested in how women have been silenced, how women silence themselves, and how women break their silence. Her workshops introduce published texts by women, and enable participants to begin or continue creating their own text. The process used in the workshop is suitable for both new and experienced writers. and is one the participant can use after the workshop is over.
